Founders of CG K9 SAR - Team Max & Team Fritz with Team Trisha & Team Sasha Von

Jim and Dee Park did not formalize the Central GA K9 SAR Team, until Carl B & Dona B joined.  Their combined knowledge in Search & Rescue coupled with the ability to create training scenarios for the dogs, created an environment for new team members looking to join a professional / quality team.  Since the team's inception, with just four dogs, the team has grown significantly.  The founders are proud to have the below team members to carry on the Search & Rescue legacy.

Lucy is an Aussie from sheep herding working stock, as such, she loves her work to a degree where she self details the search.  Lucy has very strong toy drive and works very hard to get her toy.  She is a pleasure to work with...plainly she is just very smart and easy to train.

  • Some unique information about the team?
Thor is a rescue dog. He came from Gwinnett Animal Control. My husband and I went there wanting a medium to large breed. They had several black labs on the website. We had pulled out another dog prior to seeing Thor(his name was pen #191 at the time) who wanted nothing to do with us. We walked by pen #191 and this adorable black lab puppy (about 10 months old) jumped on the window.  Several other people were there and walked by but he did not even acknowledge them. We pulled him out and he was all over us. He even refused to leave the play pen without us being right behind him. We like to say he adopted us prior to us signing the papers.  We brought him home 3 days later after being neutered.  We later found out(via bloodwork) that Thor is a lab/rottweiler/chow mix.

  • Some unique information about the team?Bekkie (a Brittany) is a rescued stray from the St. Martin, French West Indies - probably abandoned by her breeder due to being gun shy.  Adopted her at 5 months old, she came home with me for the weekend as a "try out" from her foster home and never left.  She has been a challenging dog, we have worked through many behavioral issues but she recently found out that her nose and brain are in fact connected!  Her competency in search work has far exceeded her handler's expectations - She is happiest when either working or snuggling.
